The Department of Aquaculture at the College of Fishery Science, Udgir, is dedicated to promoting scientific fish farming through quality education, hands-on training, and research. The department provides students with practical exposure to key areas such as broodstock management, induced breeding, seed production, nursery management, and water quality management. A well-equipped laboratory supports regular practical sessions for the B.F.Sc. degree program, while a specialized wet laboratory facilitates the study and culture of aquatic organisms under controlled conditions. To support field-based learning, a portable FRP carp hatchery and well-maintained nursery and rearing ponds are available. These facilities are utilized for academic training, field practicals, research projects, and extension work. Additionally, an integrated ornamental fish culture unit serves as a platform for training and demonstration in ornamental fish farming. Faculty members are actively engaged in research and extension initiatives aimed at advancing aquaculture practices in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra.
